Lull in the Seattle/Sacramento saga
We haven’t posted much on here in recent days because there hasn’t been much to post.
Nothing has really happened — that we know of, anyway — since the events last week in New York, when it was decided that there would be no decision on the Seattle/Sacramento battle over the NBA Kings until May 6 at the earliest (going by the timeline presented by the NBA, anyway).
What’s due to happen next is another meeting of the Finance/Relocation Committee. But that apparently doesn’t have to be an in-person meeting. When everyone left New York, there was nothing solidified on when where that meeting would be.
Sources on Tuesday indicated there was still nothing set on that meeting (though maybe some of the particulars know and it hasn’t linked). Regardless, it sounds like that will be a meeting that won’t likely have a lot of advance noticed and media coverage, as have the others.
At that meeting, it is expected that the committee would make a recommendation to forward on to the NBA Board of Governors, which then would meet again itself — potentially as early as May 6, again going by the timeline laid out by the NBA in New York last week.
When word breaks on any of these meetings, we will report it in this space and elsewhere.
