Picture this: Surf-watching on a bluebird-sky day at Cape Disappointment. A family walk on a sunny Larrabee State Park beach. A first camping trip to Sun Lakes for a 3-year-old (who might grow up to be a park ranger).

As part of our observance of the 100th anniversary of Washington State Parks, we’re asking you to share your best photo taken in a state park. (Here’s a list of state parks, to help jog your memory. We like city and county parks, too, but it’s not their birthday.)

Your photo might be a memorable family moment caught with a candid camera, a scenic vista glimpsed from a spectacular vantage point, a wildlife wonder you don’t see in the city — you choose.  We’ll share photos online — and maybe some in the printed newspaper –  in coming weeks. Continue here to submit…

How to submit

Email pictures to our Seattle Times Flickr account by following the instructions below:

Please put a short title of the photo, including location, in the email subject line. (Example: Fishing in Moran State Park on Orcas Island)

In the body of the email, please include:

  • A very brief caption (optional)
  • Your name and city
  • The photographer’s name, if different, so that we may properly credit the photo.

Please attach only one picture per email.

Submissions are unpaid. Please see our Terms of Service, particularly the section under “License,” about “user published content.”

Email your photo now to readerpix@seattletimes.com. Please do not include personal information such as phone number, home or business address in your emails.

We may also feature your submission on the Seattle Times Facebook page.

Thank you.
