Alaska cruise: Here’s a look at departure-day excitement

Departure day for an Alaska cruise is hectic and exciting, especially at Seattle’s Pier 91 when two ships are each loading about 3,000 passengers for a 4 p.m. departure northward. It’s like loading the passengers of a really, really big airplane — or maybe 10 big airplanes.
