With a primordial yell, surfer takes a swing at attacking shark

A  surfer is recovering -  and thanking his thick, old surfboard for helping protect him – after a great white shark bit him and his board off Eureka, Calif. In a story about his ordeal, friends say he gave a primordial yell after the shark bit into his thigh.

Shark attacks – or at least reports of them – seem to be on the rise in some areas, including Hawaii earlier this year. The Shark Attack File lists worldwide shark attacks in what is sobering reading for those going into the water….
