See Washington’s state parks for free

Washington State Parks will be free on 12 days this year.  Visitors won’t have to buy a $10 daily Discover Pass to visit (nor the $30 annual pass).

Here are the free days for 2014:

  • Jan 19 and 20 – in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • March 19 – Washington State Parks birthday
  • April 19 – A spring Saturday “free day”
  • April 22 – Earth Day
  • May 11 – A spring Sunday “free day”
  • June 7 and 8 – National Trails Day and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Free Fishing Weekend
  • June 14 – National Get Outdoors Day
  • Aug. 25 – National Park Service birthday
  • Sept. 27 – National Public Lands Day
  • Nov. 11 – Veterans Day
