Alaska Airlines is strengthening its cross-country network, adding flights from its Seattle hub to New Orleans, Tampa and Detroit. And it’s offering sale fares to kick off the new flights.

Service to New Orleans and Tampa begins June 12; flights to Detroit start Sept. 4. There will be one daily round trip between Seattle and each of the destinations.

Alaska is offering introductory  fares for the new flights starting  at $149 one-way.  Tickets must be bought by Feb. 26 for flights between June 12 and Nov. 19 for Seattle -New Orleans; between June 20 and Nov. 10 for Seattle-Tampa; and between Sept. 4 and Nov. 19 for Seattle-Detroit, said the airline. See Alaska’s website for blackout dates and other fine-print rules.

Alaska Mileage Plan members also can get double miles and double-elite qualifying miles on the new service at certain times.
