I love maps. Paper maps, that is, not just Google maps on my phone. So I was glad to see that a branch of Seattle’s Metsker Maps has just opened at Sea-Tac Airport.
The shop, in the B concourse (beyond security so accessible only to ticketed passengers), offers all sorts of maps plus guidebooks, travel accessories, children’s items and more.
Metsker has been a Seattle fixture for decades, with its main store at Pike Place Market. At Sea-Tac Airport it joins other local favorites such as the recently opened Sub Pop Records airport store (music, T-shirts and more from Seattle’s best-known indie label) and outposts of Ivar’s and Anthony’s restaurants.
