Get outta town: 3 ideas for your Memorial Day weekend

Chances are you’re already booked for this Memorial Day weekend. But who knows, maybe your next-door neighbor is having his annual Memorial Day Accordion Flash Mob party and you really need to get out of town.

Here are three reasons to go.

GO SOUTH

For wine-lovers, it’s one of the biggest weekends of the year in Oregon pinot noir country.

More than 150 Willamette Valley wineries, including some small family-owned operations not regularly open to the public, welcome visitors and stage special events all weekend long as part of Memorial Weekend in the Wine Country, Saturday through Monday. It’s just west of Portland, where vineyards meet the Coast Range. Tasting fees may apply.
