Get outta town: 3 quick ideas for your weekend (Oct. 18-20)

Did you run into poison ivy on your trip to the pumpkin patch? Are you really, really itching to get out of town? Here are some perfectly seasonal October diversions beyond Seattle:

If you’re in the spooky spirit, now’s the time to take a ride on the Halloween Ghost Train in Vancouver, B.C.’s Stanley Park. This year’s theme is “Monster Movie Mashup.” The park’s miniature train winds through the park as you meet ghoul friends such as Dracula, Wolfman, the Mummy and more. Rides happen nightly between 6 and 10 p.m., with added attractions in the plaza, or there are matinee rides Friday through Sunday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (train only). $5.50-$11.
