It’s the dog days of summer, and maybe your roommate’s unlovable pooch is finally driving you out of town? Here are some good places to run away to this weekend.
It’s time for seafood and music on the Long Beach Peninsula. Two events this weekend: Blues and Seafood at the Port of Ilwaco, on Friday and Saturday, and Jazz and Oysters Sunday in Ocean Park. The Ilwaco event features blues acts including Coco Montoya, the North Coast Blues Band, The Strange Tones and Kevin Selfe & the Tornadoes. It’s all in a waterfront tent, with a seafood-oriented food court and microbrews handy. On a ballfield up near Nahcotta, the jazz day includes performers Patrick Lamb and Acustica, plus a whole passel of those famous Willapa Bay oysters. Ticket prices vary; all-weekend ticket for both events: $50. (more…)
