King County’s contract with Teamsters

Fact check

The Times editorial on Saturday, Nov. 1 (“The dangerous slope of King County politics”) is an attack on contract language in the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office collective bargaining agreement with the Teamsters union that The Times completely misunderstands.

I negotiated that language on behalf of the Teamsters union, and the first sentence of the editorial is wildly inaccurate. The rest of the editorial is built on that misconception, so The Times ends up offering its well-respected opinion about something that doesn’t exist.
