Another child abuse case

Don’t just sit there; do something

I am so sad and angry after reading the story Thursday about another 2-year-old beaten beaten into a coma apparently by her mother’s lowlife boyfriend while her mother, numerous acquaintances, child services, medical professionals and the police declined to help [“‘Horrific case’ of child abuse,” News, Dec. 4].

There is nothing more important in this state than to finally get a handle on these crimes and the criminals who are committing them.

I’ve lived here only five years but am alarmed that I read a story like this nearly every week and read such unacceptable remarks from the people charged by law to protect children. They say, “We didn’t know the whole story” or “She looked OK.” Those responses just don’t cut it anymore.
