Blue Angels at Seafair

War technology should not serve as entertainment

I, for one, will shed no tears at the absence of the Blue Angels’ performance at this year’s Seafair festivities [“Seafair lands jets to replace Blue Angels,” page one, April 10].The presentation of weapons-of-war as entertainment is obscene when we do not fully compensate the men and women in our armed services who have dedicated their lives to our safety and freedom.

As long as any veteran does not receive his or her full due in return for service to our country, let’s keep our high-tech military hardware out of the circus ring, and instead contribute whatever the annual cost of hosting this spectacle directly to veteran’s care.
