Chris Hansen’s plan for Seattle’s new NBA arena

No need for new arena

BID FOR NBA FRANCHISE OWNERSHIPSome people, such as the always-smiling Chris Hansen and Seattle’salways-talking mayor, seem to believe that it’s time to break ground for a new arena [“The man behind the plan,” page one, April 14].

There are a lot of unanswered questions in my book; where is the environmental review? Where’s the study that shows traffic impact on the Port of Seattle?

Sodo has a unique quality: artsy, funky, small businesses. This environment needs to be protected.

I enjoy basketball. My family laughed and cried along with the Sonics’ ups and downs. They can return to KeyArena and play on without disturbing other Seattle areas, but this wouldn’t make money for Hansen. He may be generous to his parents, but he’s working this system to make money.

I just don’t want to pay for it, and we taxpayers will be paying 200 million for his decisions.
