Boeing considers moving parts of business to South Carolina

Media are too negative about the company

At Boeing's new Everett jet delivery center, planes wait delivery to clients. [Ellen M. Banner, The Seattle Times.]

Is it any wonder that Boeing could be planning to move more of its operations elsewhere? [“Editorial: The value of Boeing’s Puget Sound workers,” Opinion, June 18.]

Every time a simple issue arises concerning a Boeing airplane, the local media begin bad-mouthing the company as if it has done something wrong. Well, I’ve got news for you: in most cases, it is simply an oversight on the part of the airline’s maintenance staff. Boeing is not about to say anything regarding this. Would you, when the customers are spending millions, if not billions, of dollars purchasing your products?

Boeing doesn’t need the media saying things they are only speculating about. Washington and its citizens should be proud of Boeing’s accomplishments, not bringing it down.

Norman Hines Sr., SeaTac
