Nothing compares to the print newspaper
Sunday’s issue of The Seattle Times reminded me of why I love newspapers. David Brooks’ column about the Egyptian coup was particularly insightful and honest. [“Column: Defending the Egyptian coup,” Opinion, July 7.]
My heart goes out to people forced to extract their news from little square displays on plastic devices. I can’t help but wonder if they know they can view it all in a grand swoop, in the panoramic, satisfyingly tactile form that nature clearly intended. And try soaking up an oil spill with a smartphone!
