Seattle’s port and industrial sector

Previous letter was inaccurate

In response to Douglas Pratt’s letter to the editor on Friday, can we get some facts straight? [“Northwest Voices: Seattle’s port and industrial sector,” Opinion, July 12.]

Granted, we should not ignore the port and the industrial area. But the money for the Lander Street overpass didn’t get used for that project, as was promised over 10 years ago, it went to the Mercer Street project instead.

So when Pratt says “the city of Seattle fell all over itself to grubstake a glitzy arena,” that’s just wrong. Can we stop blaming everything on our sports arenas?
