Security at the soccer game

Getting into the Stadium was difficult

On Saturday, the Sounders will play its first home match since the horrible July 3 fiasco. Actually, it wasn’t the match that was ugly, it was the getting into the stadium.

Whose bright idea was it to “wand” everyone, supposedly for security? Our bags are checked, and I have no problem with that, and it usually goes smoothly. Why the “wanding?” Has there been some danger that we fans haven’t be told? Maybe the management’s liability rates are lower if this “wanding” process is done.

Some fans missed the opening ceremonies, marching in of teams, singing our national anthem, and part of the match, because they were delayed at the gate by this mismanaged and needless process.

I’m a loyal fan and have been a season-ticket holder for four years, but I refuse to add another two or more hours of waiting in line for this stupid procedure. I love my team, and want to support them, but the management is losing supporters.

If this is because of the Boston tragedy, and fans are afraid to attend events, then the bad guys have won.

Mary Myers, Kent
