I’m all in favor of parks, and especially of having them maintained, but a 40 percent increase in the levy amount? Come on. [“Voters to cast ballots on county parks levy,” NW Tuesday, July 23.]
I remember when our regular taxes paid for parks acquisition and maintenance. What happened to our parks tax money?
They don’t need to acquire more park land. We already have a national park, two national forests and dozens of other park designations that everyday people never use.
Vote “no” in August, and they’ll put it back on the ballot in November, with a more realistic price tag.
