The Affordable Care Act

Health care is needed

I am sick an tired of the bad rap that the president is getting over the Affordable Care Act. [“Health-insurance costs rise, but more slowly,” News, Aug. 21.]

This country should have had this 20 years ago. We are the only industrialized country that didn’t have something for its citizens until this was enacted. Right or wrong, health care is needed for all of it citizens.

I am still working so that my wife and myself can go to a doctor for our ailments. If I wasn’t still working and paying for my own program, I wouldn’t be getting the care that I need.

This plan could be tweaked to read better if it wasn’t such a political issue for both governing parties. Start thinking of the people, by the people, for the people.
