Washington quarterback Cyler Miles and wide receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow have been suspended for a violation of team rules [“Huskies quarterback Cyler Miles, receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow suspended,” Huskies, Feb. 7]. Let’s expect a full investigation into their alleged attack(s) on Feb. 2.
If, indeed, these young men assaulted a man who was walking on Northeast 55th Street, their crime should be fully detailed, and they should be processed through the justice system without the considerable intervention and influence of the University of Washington.
I am a 1973 graduate of the UW. I live on the street where this alleged attack occurred. I have spent 40 years as an elementary and middle school teacher working with my tireless colleagues to teach “might does not make right” and bullying behavior will not be tolerated. Are we naive, and wasting our breath?
When I walk in my neighborhood, I should not have to worry about being beat up by a Husky.
