What a misguided idea. College disciplinary hearings are for students who plagiarize, not for students who rape [“Make college discipline records publicly available,” Opinion, May 14].
Any crime against a person must be prosecuted in a real judicial court, where the guilty can actually be punished and the innocent have their rights protected.
College disciplinary hearings often lack these qualities, and that is why their records are confidential.
