Gun control: Change society’s morals
There are reported killings in this country by Americans with guns almost weekly [“Second Amendment changes needed,” Northwest Voices, June 13]. Sadly, classmates kill their classmates in our schools. The Democrats cry out for gun control as the solution to stop the barbarous killing.
I’m a member of America’s Greatest Generation whose young men fought and many died in World War II. The children in this generation had unlimited guns and access to explosives. There were virtually no killings in the schools at that time because of the moral values of the parents and their children.
Americans must demand their politicians retrofit society to the moral values of the Greatest Generation to eliminate the killing in our schools. Without these morals, the killing will continue with or without gun control.
