Letter writer Travis Penn assumes the worst for Alaska Air and blames capitalism for the potential loss of jobs [“Delta’s Seattle expansion: How capitalism has failed us,” Northwest Voices, June 16].
Capitalism is the reasons Alaska Air is in the strong position it maintains at Sea-Tac. The pressure from Delta will make Alaska better and the increased competition will benefit passengers of both airlines. When government agencies try to pick winners and losers in the free market it undermines the entire system.
Is the writer suggesting we abandon capitalism to save Alaska Air?
