I-5 shooting, shutdown: A job well-done by police

After the terrible shooting and traffic halt on Interstate 5 this week, I would like to give the Seattle police and Washington State Patrol my standing ovation for a job well done under extreme traffic conditions [“Man shot in officer-involved shooting on I-5 bridge,” Local News, June 16].

I was stuck on the bridge for what seemed was going to be a hours’ wait before the traffic could continue. However, the police coordinated a reversed exit back through the Northeast 45th Street onramp and continued that effort through the surface streets. I was off the bridge in less than an hour.

I have never seen such a display of concerned and motivated action as I witnessed last night by our valiant police officers. You deserve our utmost respect and pride. Thank you.

Mike McBride, Seattle
