Seattle police lawsuit: Criticism should come from within
In a free society there is a need for law and order [“SPD officers say city ‘playing politics’ with their lives,” Local News, Aug. 28]. That need requires personnel of quality and, in many cases. quantity.
Criticizing the very body that provides this need has got to be truthful and logical. At any company there are distracters or those that don’t fit the job. To blame the whole company is political. I respect the Seattle Police Department and the job it does. Interference by a federal body of critics may only hurt the chances of fairness. The criticism should come within.
