Commuting by feet benefits environment and the walker

I very much enjoyed reading your article “Feet First” [page one, Aug. 28]. The message I got from this article was that walking should be one of the top ways to commute to work. I agree with this message.

By having more people walk as their commute, it helps with global warming and gives the walker some great exercise. It also lets you not get stuck in rush hour traffic. This story of a man who walks more than 50 miles a week changed my thoughts on walking as my commute. This article encourages me to walk to school more.
