Marysville school shooting: When will we take action?

I wish to comment on Danny Westneat’s column “We can do more than grieve and move on” [Local News, Oct. 25].

I want to thank him for writing that column and trying to insert some facts into the debate.

Our politicians will cry crocodile tears over this shooting carnage and make tearful, mild protest of this violence in our society. But, step away from the camera, and realize that the gun manufacturers association is waiting with their dollars and their propaganda.

For all the gun huggers out there, I am still waiting to hear what “well regulated militia” you belong to.

I would also like to applaud the column for pointing out what I consider the insanity of our nation. You only have to look at the gun statistics of other industrialized nations. They take action when an “active shooter incident” occurs in their country. Ask: Why do we take no action?
