Harvard Exit Theatre: A part of Seattle’s fabric

As a Capitol Hill property owner and frequent moviegoer, I was so very saddened to read the Harvard Exit is being sold and soon to be closed [“Harvard Exit Theatre will close in January,” The Arts, Dec. 2]. This news absolutely sickens me; I am sure so many other patrons feel the same.

Out of all the modern, cookie-cutter, low-architecture appeal theaters that litter the Seattle landscape, the Harvard Exit has always been a beacon of hope offering the moviegoer a place to see high-quality films, as well as sit and bask in the ambience of a place with so much charm and history.

I am very disappointed in the decision to sell this much-loved, one-of-kind art-house cinema.

We need to find a way to keep the Harvard Exit open and thriving in our wonderfully creative and culturally diverse neighborhood. It is a part of the very fabric that makes the Emerald City so special and unique.
