Sony hack: How to get back at North Korea

President Obama has been hounded to “do something” about the vile hacking of Sony [“How will US respond to Sony hack?” Nation & World, Dec. 18]. Here is a plan:

Sony could probably sell that movie really cheap to anyone with a few bucks. The president should ask Congress for a couple million to buy it, and then have it run on C-SPAN for all to see — free of charge.

It would be a safe, inexpensive, and appropriate way to rub North Korea’s nose in its hacking scheme publicly. It might think twice next time, as might a few other rogue states that do not have U.S. interests at heart.

If this is not retaliated against forcefully and soon, it’s open season on every IT system in the country.
