I enjoyed Mónica Guzmán’s column today about reading on paper [“Paper or pixel? Don’t burn those books just yet,” Mónica Guzmán, March 22], and I’ll probably share it with my wife using either my iPhone or my iPad Mini. But I wanted to mention two other things that make print essential: organization and permanence.
There’s no electronic means (at least not yet) to replicate the serendipitous way Guzmán’s column ends right next to the “Around the Northwest” stories in the paper. And with books there’s no contest: If I want to find that important sentence somewhere on the bottom of page 200-and-something, nothing comes close toMore
