Zoo elephants: Former director advocating to send them to a sanctuary

Woodland Park Zoo’s elephants have never had a decent break their entire lives [” Should Woodland Park Zoo elephants go to zoo or sanctuary?” Opinion Northwest, Nov. 24].

At last, however, Chai and Bamboo have the opportunity for a better life. A chance still exists for them to spend their remaining years at a sanctuary in California, where space and standards of care exceed those at any zoo.
