School suspensions: Teachers must encourage coopeartive classrooms

And just how much time has guest columnist Linda Mangel spent teaching in a high-school classroom that can mimic a Seahawks game? [“How to end the senseless cycle of school suspensions and expulsions,” Opinion, Jan. 20]

It is the job of a high-school teacher to offer the opportunity for an education to students who are willing to work for it in a cooperative classroom setting, not to make up for the failure or inability of parents or society to support and promote responsible adult behavior.
