School supplies empower superheroes

Education provides all the powers of a superhero, and then some. That extra bit is the magic of options. Nothing can match having choices, and being prepared to make the most of them. All those monsters have to knock down walls because they have no clue how to open doors.

Help needy students and their grateful families receive the magic found in a backpack stuffed with school supplies. Please make a  contribution to the editorial page school-supply drive of The Seattle Times Fund for the Needy. Help provide grade-appropriate supplies to those who need an extra bit of help in this still struggling economy.

Read about the start of the 2013 campaign here, and click here for a link to where donations can be made.

Help students arrive for school in the fall equipped to learn. Be a superhero.
