PARIS, France – Allez Seahawks.

“It’s our turn,” Tacoma native Krystal Romano said early Monday morning, Paris time, when the Seahawks won the NFC championship game in Seattle. “We haven’t won a Super Bowl yet. This team, this puzzle full of misfits and last picks – we made it work.”

Romano watched the game at Moose, a Canadian sports bar in the Odeon neighborhood. Monday was the fifth anniversary of her move to Paris to join her husband, a French native. “All I wanted was for the Seahawks to win.”

The 49ers were formidable opponents, but lost in the 23-17 game. Like I said in a Wednesday post, clearly the Seahawks deserved to win. Marshall Kilduff, the San Francisco Chronicle editorial writer, who argued for the 49ers in his Opinion Shop post, relayed his congratulations via email. Thank you to the Seahawks, the 49ers and both left coast cities for a considerable game.

Update 11:23 a.m.:

Are you a Seahawks fan traveling or living in another country? Send me a photo of you with a 12th Man flag, jersey or other fan memorabilia, hopefully in front of a background that represents where you are. We’ll share the best photos here on the Opinion Northwest blog this coming week. Email the photo to schan@seattletimes.com with your full name, address and phone for verification purposes.
