I’m in Pullman here at 4 p.m. for Saturday night’s Washington State-Arizona State football game, and it’s definitely not Tempe weather.
There’s a wet snow coming down (not yet sticking on roads), it’s breezy, and it may not get much better. The forecast during the game is for temperatures between the low-to-mid-30s, with the chance of precipitation increasing from 25 to 50 percent during the 7-10 p.m. time frame. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
At kickoff, the Sun Devils will know whether they’re in control of their Pac-12 South fate. UCLA’s game at Utah kicked off at 3:30 p.m., and if the Bruins lose, it would tilt control back to the Sun Devils.
Dennis Erickson, the ASU coach, has often mentioned this year how much quarterback Brock Osweiler has progressed as a leader, and that would come in handy tonight. Osweiler has undoubtedly seen a lot of snow in his time; he’s from Kalispell, Mont. Maybe he’ll get across to his teammates that it’s no big deal.
