USC’s Kessler and Heidari, ASU’s Nelson win Pac-12 awards . . .

Cody Kessler and Andre Heidari of USC and Arizona State’s Robert Nelson were named Pac-12 football players of the week Monday.

Kessler was 25 of 37 for 288 yards and a touchdown in the Trojans’ 20-17 upset of Stanford, and Heidari kicked a late 47-yard field goal, giving them offensive and special teams awards, respectively. ASU’s Nelson intercepted two Oregon State passes, one for a touchdown, as the Sun Devils turned back Oregon State 30-17.

For the record, my ballot (media are selecting the award this year) had Washington State’s Connor Halliday as the offensive standout, after his 39-for-53 day at Arizona in a 24-17 upset.
