Sark, Haden disciplined, and it’s tough to argue with that . . .

The Pac-12 Monday morning announced disciplinary measures in the aftermath of Saturday’s bizarre incident at Stanford, in which USC football coach Steve Sarkisian summoned athletic director Pat Haden down from the press box to speak to officials.

In four decades of watching this league, I can’t remember any sort of parallel scenario, and the league had to do something to address it. Of course, it’s largely window-dressing; there’s no real teeth to the action of reprimanding Sark and fining Haden, other than showing them who’s boss. And Haden’s self-imposed two-game ban from the sidelines is a bit laughable; wasn’t he in the press box already the other day?
