NFF-FWAA poll concludes: More cowbell, and my ballot

The Super 16 college football poll, sponsored by National Football Foundation-Football Writers Assn. of America, this week has Mississippi State at the top, after its purge of three top-10 ranked teams in the past three weeks. That’s the way I voted for No. 1, but I departed some down below, in particular giving a nod to the schedule teams have played rather than merely whether they’re undefeated.

I’m not yet impressed by either Florida State or Notre Dame, for instance, but they’ll have a chance to do that this week against each other.

My ballot:

1, Miss State. 2, Ole Miss. 3, Fla State. 4, Baylor. 5, Auburn. 6, Oregon. 7, Alabama. 8, Notre Dame. 9, Michigan State. 10, TCU. 11, Oklahoma. 12, Georgia. 13, Kansas State. 14, Ohio State. 15, Arizona. 16, East Carolina.

And if you’re interested, a list of the voters:
