The Pac-12 Monday announced its players of the week, as voted by media covering the league, and they’re Washington State quarterback Luke Falk, Arizona State cornerback Lloyd Carrington and UCLA kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn. I voted that way, except for a nod to Oregon kicker Aidan Schneider, who performed well at Utah in a charged environment. But Fairbairn was also good in the notoriously tough kicking conditions at Husky Stadium, with field goals of 30, 37 and 46 yards.
Hard to argue with either Falk or Carrington. Falk had a phenomenal first start at Oregon State with 44 of 61 completions for 471 yards, five touchdowns to five different receivers and no interceptions. It was the most prolific first start by a WSU quarterback.
Carrington was pivotal in the Arizona State thrashing of Notre Dame. He had a sack, a forced fumble among his eight tackles, and a 58-yard interception return for a touchdown.
