Saturday marks the first of eight bowl games involving Pac-12 teams — the Las Vegas bowl, featuring Utah and Colorado State. The betting line has dropped from the four-point spread favoring the Utes to 2.5; no doubt Utah’s (8-4) skittish offense has something to do with that. CSU (10-2) quarterback Garrett Grayson has been drawing NFL interest, and has a 32-6 touchdown-interception ratio, plus the Rams have a sturdy back in Alabama transfer Dee Hart, who rushed for 1,260 yards. I’m taking Kyle Whittingham’s 6-1 bowl record, the impeccable Ute special teams, and a Utah defense that had a nation-best 52 sacks to give Grayson a lot of trouble. On the other side, interim coach Dave Baldwin replaces Jim McElwain, who took the Florida job. Hard to know what effect that could have on the Rams, if any. Utah 30, Colorado State 24.
