Northwest 11: Beavers the story here and elsewhere

Each week, we rank the 11 Division 1 men’s college basketball teams in the Northwest — the nine in the states of Oregon and Washington, plus Idaho and Boise State. Herewith, week No. 4 in 2015:

1. Gonzaga (20-1) . . . Zags showed what most suspected — big gap between GU and St. Mary’s

2. Washington (14-5) . . . Win at Colorado a positive step, although Buffs are injury-riddled

3. Oregon State (14-5) . . . If OSU’s going to dream big (NCAA), needs to win at ASU

4. Oregon (14-6) . . . In dire need of a quality win, and is at Tucson Wednesday night

5. Boise State (14-6) . . . Off 4  wins in row (after 4 straight losses), hosts CSU Tuesday night

6. Eastern Washington (15-5) . . . Getting F Jois back will be key for high-scoring Eagles

7. Washington State (9-10) . . . Cougars backslid on mountain trip, now host Bay Area duo

8. Portland (12-9) . . . Have to hope Zags look past Thursday-night matchup to Memphis

9. Portland State (10-8) . . . Sixth in Big Sky; top eight get to league tournament

10. Seattle (10-9) . . . At Cal State-Bakersfield (6-14) Saturday night

11. Idaho (8-10) . . . RPI of 273 brings up rear in these rankings
