USC just added a commitment from the cornerback widely ranked No. 1 in the nation, Iman Marshall of Long Beach Poly. This adds to a signing-day haul that was buttressed earlier today by a couple of LA products, defensive lineman Rasheem Green and linebacker John Houston Jr., both of Serra High.
It solidifies USC as the league’s top dog in recruiting for 2015 and puts the Trojans in the conversation for the top class in the country.
Across town, UCLA had a lot of flux on signing day, scoring with tight end Chris Clark, linebacker Roquan Smith and the top-rated player in Oklahoma, Josh Wariboko. But it also had setbacks as defensive lineman Joseph Wicker of Long Beach Poly picked ASU, and the Bruins had a commitment from Texas wideout Ryan Newsome flipped on them (to Texas), and another by Tempe, Ariz. linebacker Cassius Peat to Michigan State.
Elsewhere in the league, Oregon, Stanford, Arizona State and Washington are putting together good classes. More in our print edition Thursday.
