Northwest 11: Boise State making a big push

Each week, we rank the 11 Division 1 men’s college basketball teams in the Northwest — the nine in the states of Oregon and Washington, plus Idaho and Boise State. Herewith, week No. 6 in 2015:

1. Gonzaga (24-1) . . . Zags tested big-time in Bay Area, but emerged unscathed

2. Boise State (17-6) . . . Broncos follow four straight losses with seven-game win streak

3. Eastern Washington (18-5) . . . Eagles host Sac State Thursday night in big Sky collision

4. Oregon (17-7) . . . If Ducks are to sneak into NCAA, they’ll have to do it on road

5. Oregon State (16-7) . . . In case you’re wondering, yeah, Western Oregon is good (20-3)

6. Washington (14-9) . . . Loss at OSU set back hoops several decades

7. Washington St. (10-13) . . . Kent’s return to Eugene hardly a thing of beauty

8. Portland (14-10) . . . On road, Pilots swept Santa Clara, USF by combined 32

9. Portland State (11-10) . . . Went to the wire in loss at Sac State

10. Seattle U. (11-11) . . . Needs rebound from G Umipig (12 for last 46 FGs)

11. Idaho (9-12) . . . 8th in Big Sky; needs to maintain to make tournament
