Northwest 11: Huskies making a move, and it’s not up

Each week, we rank the 11 Division 1 men’s college basketball teams in the Northwest — the nine in the states of Oregon and Washington, plus Idaho and Boise State. Herewith, week No. 7 in 2015:

1. Gonzaga (26-1) . . . St. Mary’s (Saturday night on road) might be biggest hurdle until NCAA

2. Oregon (18-8) . . . Home game with Utah Saturday could shove Ducks into the big bracket

3. Boise State (18-7) . . . Loss at Fresno bitter pill for NCAA-hopeful Broncos

4. Eastern Washington (19-6) . . . Jois, Harvey taking turns missing time

5. Oregon State (16-9) . . . Scorpion made it a completely lost weekend in LA

6. Washington State (11-14) . . . Defense (.464, worst in the Pac-12) not matching the offense

7. Portland (16-10) . . . Four straight wins; is there a CBI in Pilots’ future?

8. Washington (14-11) . . . ASU first opponent since Upshaw left not to shoot 50 percent

9. Idaho (11-12) . . . Big sweep brightens Vandals’ hopes of making Big Sky tourney

10. Portland State (12-11) . . . Shot 53 percent to tarnish Eastern’s weekend

11. Seattle U. (11-13) . . . Lost five of six, RPI 306; where’s this thing going?
