More than 150 supporters of 1st Congressional District Republican candidate John Koster waited for word as they watched returns in Everett Tuesday night.

Koster said he realized he had a tougher job winning King County than Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom counties.

“The people don’t know me down there as well,” he said.

He was behind his rival in Tuesday night’s returns, but told reporters it was too early to call the race.

“It’s always better to be ahead, but we’ll wait and see tomorrow,” he said.
