Joe Biden slips into Seattle for fundraiser

Vice President Joe Biden visited the Seattle area Thursday for a low-key fundraiser.

Biden attended a largely unpublicized noon fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee at an undisclosed home in the Bellevue area, according to the White House and Democratic Party officials. Media was barred from the event and no further details were provided.

Biden also visited Starbucks headquarters with his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, to thank the company for support of military veterans and families, according to a tweet by Jill Biden.

Along with Interior Secretary Sally Jewell, Jill Biden was in town for a panel discussion on working families with executives from six local companies: Alaska Airlines; Tom Douglas Restaurants; PATH, a global-health nonprofit; McKinstry, a design and building firm; Moz, a web analytics company; and REI, the outdoor-apparel and equipment company formerly headed by Jewell.
