Former Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin has endorsed Clint Didier in his bid to represent Central Washington’s 4th Congressional District.
A post on Palin’s Facebook page says “Clint will fight for farmers, for lower taxes, and less government. He understands hard work and the concerns of everyday Americans because he’s one of us. We need more citizens like Clint Didier in Congress. Let’s work together to send this champ to Congress!”
Didier is competing against fellow Republican Dan Newhouse for the congressional seat being vacated by retiring 10-term Rep. Doc Hastings, who endorsed Newhouse last week.
With Newhouse racking up most endorsements from current and former GOP elected officials, Didier is campaigning as a tea-party, grassroots conservative against what he’s called the “Beltway insiders.”
Palin has endorsed Didier before, backing him in the 2010 U.S. Senate primary. Didier placed a distant third in that contest, behind GOP favorite Dino Rossi, who eventually lost to Democratic U.S. Sen. Patty Murray.
