Former KIRO TV news anchor Susan Hutchison has been re-elected as chairman of the Washington State Republican Party.
Meeting in Skamania County over the weekend, GOP state committee leaders unanimously picked Hutchison for a two-year term, according to a party news release. Hutchison will serve through January 2017. She was first elected in 2013 after the resignation of then-party chair Kirby Wilbur.
The state GOP had a relatively positive year, picking up seats in both houses of the state legislature. The party’s biggest task for 2016 will be finding credible candidates for governor and U.S. Senate.
