That song and dance

Hmm. The crowd loved Hugh Jackman’s song-and-dance number, but it seemed A Bit Much to me, particularly Anne Hathaway getting up and singing (in a different dress than she had on the red carpet!). Isn’t she getting enough attention tonight already?
I don’t remember people in gold and silver unitards in “The Reader”; do you? That bit reminded me of Debbie Allen’s famous Oscar dance numbers in decades past, which I thought Oscar was done with. Jackman’s certainly relaxed, but he’s not Billy Crystal, who knew how to make just a tiny bit of nervousness funny.
